I am thinking about getting NeoDVD due to it's ability to encode faster (the site claims) than MyDVD. I am also impressed that it will use AC-3 instead of PCM for video capturing. I only have have a Duron 800Mhz and it claims that they recommend an Athlon 1.1Ghz for capturing. My motherboard will go up to an Athlon 1Ghz, but unfortunately, I will have to get it from someone who still carries those "brick" processors or I might have to hunt it down on Ebay. I have a FIC 1st Motherborad Via Tech AZ11.

  3. I have NeoDVD4+ and so far so good. Captures analog no probs and I've burnt 1 DVD which played ok. The only problem I have at the moment is a 'blurring of motion' which is somehow linked to MPEG2 capture for DVD. I've read other posts about this so I don't think this 'interlacing' problem is purely a NeoDVD issue. I'm running P4 2.4 G and 80G hard drive so shouldn't be a problem with setup. I'm still searching for a solution if anyone has something to add.

  4. i have a version of NEODVD that came with my dvd burner. i don't know the version off hand but this i will tell you...what i have is very limited of course. dvd capture is very good except i get this neodvd splash logo before each capture that i cannot disable. the menu i can create is limited to one picture in the middle of the screen to show what the show is with a very small title under it. i can't change the font size...i know that there is another version but i don't want to sink my cash into it unless i can get out of it what i want...basically now i am useing multiple programs to capture, edit, author with multiple menus, and burn...if neodvd can do all this then i'd get it. the capture like i said is very good, its just the rest of it that lacks for me..i guess i should research it some more to see what all newer versions can do....

This sounds great. All I want is a simple program that will decently/faithfully record my old recorded VHS tapes and home videos to DVD. I'm not really concerned about copying DVDs to DVD-+r. The fact that it will do ac3 is cool--No PCM. MyDVD is excellent if all you want to do is an hour of video, but what's the point. I hope the capturing with NeoDVD is not as sensitive as MyDVD. I can't believe I haven't seen a post yet about how MyDVD stops when it detects any pauses that take place in a VHS recording. Another thing I hope that NeoDVD has is the ability to make all your capturing files become chapters instead of "titles" like MyDVD.
