I currently have DirecTV and will have it for two years since upgrading to a DirecTV plus DVR box. My set up is really simple. I have a Flat Screen Memorex tv with VHS/DVD combo. Then the DirecTV plus DVR box going in through YWR cable. I have been noticing lately macroblocks in the picture. Is there a way to stop that? Or is that normal?

Assuming that you are referring to when you are watching programing through the DirecTV box, then it may just be the result of the broadcasting (ie: you are seeing the results of the compression used for broadcasting, in which case there isn't anything you can do to fix it). I wouldn't expect bad cables or something simple to be the cause.
