  1. Hi guys,
I've been using DVDx and the panasonic mpeg encoder to make pal vcd's and I find it gives a result I am happy with. But now I have come across wanting to rip a NTSC dvd to pal vcd, and when I set everything up thru DVDx, i get this message:-"Warning the output and input frame rate are not equal. Pull down (up) will be performed"
I went ahead with the process anyway, and the end result had about 30% of the entire rip with horizontal lines thru the picture.
Is there anyway I can change the settings to prevent this from happening??? I tried changing some of them but it didn't work.
Or if it can't be done this way, what method do you guys recommend ripping a NTSC dvd to Pal VCD??
    Thanks in advance guys....

  2. Frame rate conversions should be avoided if possible.

Since most PAL equipment can playback both PAL and NTSC (or at least convert between them), chances are you don't need to make a PAL VCD at all.

Have you tried simply making an NTSC VCD and playing that?

    Regards.

  3. Thanks for your reply mate,
Yes I have tried just making a ntsc vcd, but it would only do like 2 frames and then say done. It only makes a seconds worth of vcd.
The NTSC DVD is in 780x480 @ 29.97
What should the export settings be??
    Resolution 352x240???
What way do you use to make ntsc vcd's???
    Thanks for your help mate.....
