max. video-rate XSVCD??

Hello,

When creating a SXVCD of Dinosaur (don't shoot me, it's for "back-up" reasons ) I spread the movie over 2 CDR's of 80 minutes. The screenquality is superb without any artifact. (pretty close to the DVD quality).
But strangely enough it looks like the video rate is too high. Still IMHO it should have been a normal setting, it looks like the Apex/Hiteker 600 can't keep up with it. Does someone know what the max. rate is (I am using the the latest firmware LO-15 for my drive, and tyhe latest firmware for the chip).

What I did use was 2pass VBR;
Avarage bitrate: 2100 kbps
Maximum bitrate: 2400 kbps
Minimum bitrate: 900 kbps

Resulting in freezing moments for fractions of seconds every now and then.

The max bitrate is whatever your standalone can read (check the DVD players list to the left). The SVCD standard calls for a total max bitrate of 2,824,000bits.

2100 should be fine. Question did you have select screen changes selected? if so turn it OFF. Also was motion search set to high. And are you playing it on your PC or your standalone? A slow computer could cause skips.

I knoew 2100 should be fine, but I wanted to get it better by using 2400. As said the player is an Apex 600AD (Hiteker) which is a standalone.
When I'm right there's a maximum below 3000 but I can't find nor remember it whether that's 2200, 2400, 2600 or whatever. That 2,824,000 is a theoretically maximum.
