  1. hi

tried to convert eight legged freak, on several occasions and the same thing keeps happening. The film stops just over half way but the audio carries on to the end of the film. All the other xvid films are ok that I 've done, and the enviromental settings in tmpg are as the help page.

Has anybody got any good ideas

    many thanks kb

Here is my general procedures for doing .AVI (Xvid codec). You might have a bad .AVI file so look at step #2.

    1. Install GSPOT from the Other useful tools http://www.vcdhelp.com/tools to find out what the .AVI is using for codec's, etc. GSPOT is the BitRate Viewer for .AVI files.

    2. Check your .AVI file for bad frames
    KingJohn's Guide to bad frames
    http://www.vcdhelp.com/forum/userguides/117930.php

    3. I used this guide to setup the Xvid codec correctly in TMPGEnc:
XviD AVI -> Mpeg1/2 (VCD/SVCD) with TMPGEnc - easy way
    http://www.vcdhelp.com/forum/userguides/119019.php

    4. I used this guide to configure TMPGEnc, checked the "Output video and audio as individual elementary streams" to give me a .M2V and .MP2 files
AVI, DV, DivX, ASF, MOV, nAVI, SMR, WMV to DVD MPEG2
    http://www.vcdhelp.com/tmpgencdvd.htm

    5. I authored the .M2V and .MP2 files in Maestro.

Note: If you are missing any codecs use the NIMO codec pack http://nimo.everwicked.com/
