Laptop (with s-video) to tv (black screen)? Help.......

HI there..
I searched every forum with same problem and there are few posting but no solution. I can see everything including counter-strike game though TV but movie files(DVD too).
I've tried m-player, divx player and win-dvd. None of them worked.
Can someone give me a suggestion? Is it xp problem maybe?

You probably never will either, video output WILL NOT output
dvd player cause of built-in macrovision script, it cant determine
if ur running a tv source or a recording source, such as a "vcr",
try playing a mpeg file of some sort,thru windows media player,
that'll do the trick but a dvd i dont think will, never tried that...
