Should VHS capture - VCD or SVCD ?

I am capturing NBA games at the moment from a PCTV pro and was wondering if enc to SVCD is better than VCD, my main objective is to have as little pixelisation as possible.

Oh yeh, I capture with huffyuv compression and was wondering if theres any other filters in VDub apart from "reduce block noise" and "smart smoother" that will help reduce pixelisation in fast moving scenes.

I think most people believe SVCD is better. However, some claim they get better result from XVCD and just crank the bitrate up.
