Hi;
I am trying to capture VHS using a Hauppauge HVR 1300 MCE.
I have been informed that this card captures direct to MPEG2 so will not work with things like virtualdub.
I have dug out an old copy of Ulead VideoStudio7 and have succesfully captured a test file without changing any settings.
However having read http://www.digitalfaq.com/guides/video/introduction-record-capture.htm the default settings don't seem to follow the guide for getting the best quality capture from VHS.
I tried changing the settings to 352 x 480 and MPEG 2 and setting the VBR to 4000 but i get a message "Failed to build a preview graph".
Anyone point me in the right direction to get the best capture / file size ration with Ulead for VHS to DVD/SVCD or PC playback for my home movies.
Ta
