I should start by saying that I am very pleased with the results from the VCD's I make...other than this on small problem.
Approximately 6 to 10 times during an average movie length,I get a 2 second jerky video motion which sends the audio sync out but then back in again.
I use Kwag's template which uses CQ of 86 ...2300 max/600 min bitrate and VCDEASY to burn.
Even after setting the burn at low 4x speed (to prevent buffer underrun) I still get the jerkiness (even if its not a high action scene).
Anyone have suggestions?

To be honest...I've nevert tried a "standard" vcd ,so I can't answer that question.

First, you have not made a VCD, but an XVCD. Since there is no possible way to determine compatibility for XVCD other than testing each individual disk, it appears that your particular settings are not compatible with your DVD player.
1. Does the source play OK on the PC?
2. Does the encoded movie play OK on the PC?
3. Create a real VCD from the same source and test that.
Most likely your max bitrate is too high. -
As what Nelson stated.
It is probably the bitrate but I can't be sure if you've never even made a standard disc before. It could be a lot of other things as well.
