    hi all,

    i'm working with Roxio Platinum 5. my DVD player won't play VCD's burned on CD-R's. i've been trying to burn the video on CDRW's, but i've been having problems. the DirectCd program seems to be conflicting with the VCD burning process. how do i get past this, short of uninstalling DirectCD?

    Try to erase the cdrw, don't format it. As soon as you format it, DirectCD takes control of it..

    That's why I switch to Nero.

    Also are you using 700 MB or 640 MB. My standalone will only play 640 MB CDRW, nothing else.

    problem is, all my CDRW's have already been formatted. is there a way of "unformatting" them?

    You'll have to uninstall the DirectCD app or your life will be miserable. Do that, and you're good to go.
