    DV1 to VCD/SVCD

Cannot get DV1 AVI to give good results using TMPGenc. How do you get good video from DV1 to VCD/SVCD? I capture with ScenaLyzer to DV1. DV2 captures are too jerky when captured with Scenalyzer. I check the DV1 by playing it on the computer-it is good. Next, I use Ulead Studio 6.0(with updates) to edit and add effects. Rendering the final product in Ulead gives poor video quality. I save in the original format, in Ulead, then encode with TMPGenc. The TMPGenc video is much better than Ulead's. However, it is laden with too many Chirps & Artifacts. I changed bite rate, used the nonstandard VCD setting and many other things. However, the video is too buggy. Your help will be greatly appreciated. I could get much better video with my Analog Camcorder than this new JVC GR DVL920U machine. Is there another way? I am going to try Sonic Foundry's Video Factory 2.0, any comments, please?
Going from DV1 to TMPGenc to Ulead is no good either.

I got the answer. I used Scenalyzer to capture DV2. When I played it back, it was a little jerky, but I went on-unlike before. I Edited in Ulead VS 6.0 and saved original format using Main Concept encoding. That solved the problem. TMPGenc made both XVCD & SVCD without chirps and artifacts. Just clean video. Thank God for Main Concept. Ulead's encoding s---s. Now, I'll go sign-up to get rid of the MC logo.
