  1. I want to be able to watch the movies on my computer through my tv in the basement. I know how to do it it is just a matter of should I use special software to play it or is wmp good enough? Also does any one know where I might be able to find a very long set of RCA cables to run from my computer all the way to the basement(at least 100 feet) or of any other way to conect the two together?

    a. move the computer to the basement
    b. move the tv to your computer
    c. get a 2nd cheap system in the basement to play your movies
    d. get a dvd player and a cd burner and burn movies to cd and play in player in basement.
    e. IF you still want to run cable 100+ feet as composite , use very good cable such as belden 8281 or equal and use balanced audio, and proper 75ohm high quality connectors, a line equalizer is suggested also, as is running s-video with dual cable for the y and c lines.
    f. 100 feet between pc and basement is pretty extreme distance, might want to recalculate that (cold air returns are usefull for more than your stash and sucking hot air).
    g. you could multiplex movies onto your cable (accually very easy) and watch them off your cable. assumes you have a cable drop near your pc ..
    h. send rf cable to basement instead (rg6) after multiplex vid/aud to rf .. (easy also)

  3. Wow. For once someone is thinking. Well done BJ_M. The usual guy would have just said "buy a KISS player". Sick to hear that one LOL. Just like all these people asking how to make a computer into a divx player, they'll get me so winded up that I'll end up making an article on it maybe... Driving me nuts... :/
