  1. ok guys,

i'm going mad, trying to burn my first DVD video, so i've got a question, for people who did it well allready

after i've converted my videos to mpeg2 with tmpegenc (3 files, mpg) i tried to burn them directly using instant dvd,but it says "the files......blabla is not admissible" so,is it because it's not authored yet,or is it something else ?

  2. DVD-Video must 1st be authored. It is possible to simply burn .mpg files to a DVD-r but what you end up with is a DVD-ROM disk, the videos being playable in a PC only. It will not play on a standalone DVD player if you do this, or at least non that I have ever heard of!

  3. Try an authoring program, like dvd workshop or dvdit2.5/4
lots of demos out there, if u started with mpeg1's, like a 4 min
music videos, no reencoding thru tmpg would be necessary,if
you're ripping a dvd, there's another question, reencoding isnt
always the answer, seeing how much ifoedit helps you fix certain
problems, let us know what ur working with, like a capture maybe?

  4. i just want to burn 3 mpg files as dvd video (encoded with tmpgenc) each file is about 1.2gb.
at the moment i'm trying to author them with spruce up,and as i just said in another post it stuck at 99% but still apparently running. so ? is it usual with files as big as those,or is there something wrong ?

i'm sorry,i just buy the dvd r yesterday, and i'm going mad with all the things we've got to do to burn it properly
