  1. Hi,

Im trying to make a backup of my 'robbie at the albert DVD' to DVD-R

firstly I used DVD Decypter 3.1.2.0 to rip it.

Next up DVD2AVI was used to seperate the sound and video. It told me it had:
    An Aspect ratio of 16:9
    PAL format & was 20fps ????

After putting it through TMPGEnc, the video came out Crisp but jerky.

Any ideas how to get this to play properly as a backup

    Many thanks

  2. Sounds like a non-standard DVD by some cheap publishing company. Are you backing up to DVD-R or CD-R? If DVD-R I suggest to not recompress the video. If CD-R, in TMPEnc under the "Advanced" tab check the box that says "Do not frame rate convertion". Convert and burn, see if it works. Might want to encode 5 min to then burn to see if it works, so you don't waste 10 hours.

    Hope this helps.

  3. Or better yet. Make sure that ForcedFilm is not checked in DVD2AVI. That will cause a PAL DVD to think that it is like 20fps. I don't know why I didn't think of that before! If it isn't then just use my previous post.

    Hope this helps even more.

  5. DivExpert,

Just removed the forced film option in DVD2AVI and instantly when I started to process it, 25 fps was reported instead of the 20 fps that I had before.

Im sure this will cure it mate.

    Thanks again.
