AC3 DELAY / SYNC in DVDMaestro + Demuxed audio/video lengths

I am new to the DVD backup scene, anyway is there a way to input the AC3 DELAY in DVDMaestro, I know there is an offset figure quoted if you right click, properties on the AC3 asset - but no way to enter anything...

Or should I just use AC3 Delay Corrector, followed by Create Sync Audio to Timecode in DVDMaestro??

On a second point is it normal to need to run create sync audio in DVDMaestro due the the demuxed audio/video being out by a few frames, I note that on one movie the video lost an extra frame after transcoding with CCE also??

I just use AC3 delay corrector to change it to 0ms then import it into Maestro without doing anything else and it's worked fine every time, no out of sync issues yet

Have you checked m2v and ac3 asset lengths??

Mine are always a couple of frames different, are odder still is that CCE 2.66 looses a extra frame on the m2v compared to the orignal demuxed m2v.

You can use create sync audio with 'to time code' checked, then the files are made the same length and I imagine there are also synced perfectly as both should start at timecode 00:00:00:00 as the delay has been removed with AC3 Deley Corrector.

It's seems quite common for CCE to drop a frame or two at the end of the file but i just import both of the files and then author the disc without correcting them, Maestro doesn't complain and it all works fine, once the video stops it goes back to the main menu anyway, so the extra audio frame wouldn't be played.

At 25 or 29.97 fps there's not much audio to be heard in the last couple of frames anyway.

Both Audio and Video would start at the same time anyway if you have run AC3 delay corrector

There are the file lengths I had

Original M2V - 01:30:53:16
Transcoded M2V - 01:30:53:13
AC3 - 01:30:53:15

Should I not worry then, as I assume the extra is always at the end anyway. I think DVDMastro has a bug anyway as sometimes when I load the above files the AC3 shows as 01:30:48:03 but after using the program for a bit it seems to change to 01:30:53:15....

This is quite normal, the difference is always at the end, they will both start playing at the same time but you will lose the last 2/100ths of a second of audio. you might miss the last fraction of a note !!

So i shouldn't worry about this, the only time to worry if if they are quite a bit different,
