  1. I Have Lot of Movies in MKV , AVI , and MP4 Format . I was playing these movies in VLC , Cyberlink PowerDVD 10 , WMP , And Media Player Classic without any problem , But Now suddenly any movie in MKV format and size more than 1 GB , when I Tries To Play Video stops for 2 to 3 seconds and picture scatters and every time I Play the movie audio delay is different audio cames before ( some times 20 Sec , some times 30 sec ) , But The same file is playing very good without any audio sync problem on another PC ,
I Had Tried to convert a file from MKV to AVI and The converted file Playing Normally without any problem , Then again I Convert the AVI File To MVK again The the File Plays Normal.
I Cant Understand Where is the problem The problem is only with MKV Format other formats are playing OK , Now As I Said I Had More than 200 movies in MKV format and It is not possible for me to convert them to AVI So That It Can Be Play ,Please any solution to this problem ?
    I Had Windows XP SP3 , Intel P4 processer 3.06 GHZ

  3. Baldrick.
Yes the same Problem In Media Player Classic ( Latest ) and VLC ( Latest) But as I Said the converted file from MKV to AVI is playing Normal without any problem and the Same file Again converted from AVI to MKV is also Playing fine.
Now You will think that the Orignal MKV file may courpt or damaged But still the file is playing Normal on another PC.

  5. Garryward,
Ya, This problem started before 15 days , And I had restored windows 20 days back restore point but still the issu is present , I think when I have upgraded VLC from 1.1.0 to 1.1.8 from that point the problem is seen , But I have also uninstalled VLC 1.1.8 and again restored 1.1.0 but still the problem present.
One thing is also noticiable that In VLC other files ( MP4 , AVI ,And Some MKV too ) are playing normally

Perhaps a problem with the video card driver ?
In mpc-hc, enter the preferences internal filter and try toggling on/off MKV source filter.
Also try some of the other output modes .

Are you having difficulty with HD video (1080 or 720) or is it all resolutions? Have you used Task Manager to check the
active processes/cpu usage while the files are playing ? Could your antivirus be interfering??
Try playing the files with graphstudio, available from the tools section on this site.

At least it will show you the directshow chain and see what filters you're getting

Try reinstalling ffdshow and haali splitter. If it doesn't help, perform a clean boot and see if it re-occurs.

I Have noticed that the frame rate ic contiounsely reducing while playing the file in MPC ( for frist 20 sec it is 25 fps then it is going 21 , 20 .....10) When the fps is 24 to 25 no audio sync and video scattering obsvered

  12. are your listed specs correct ?

you cannot play 1080 material with a p4

As I said while playing CPU use is normal not so high
That would suggest either you don't have a p4 or another problem

  13. Yes By all means my specs is correct I Have P4 Processer with 2.0 GB RAM , And I have another Lot of another files with 1080 , 720 And Playing well

What OS are you using and what version of WMP ? What video card do you have and what driver version?
Have you checked device manager for anomalies? What about UDMA mode for the HDD ?
Enter the BIOS and load optimized defaults.

Have you used mediainfo to compare the specs of files that do and don't play properly?
