well...which program are you using to extract the audio from the vobs...?
i've encountered a few movies where when you play the vobs directly w/ powerDVD, you see the video, but you don't hear audio...also, sometimes when I played the vobs, i hear french instead of english...
so not to worry, smartripper is a very good ripping proggie...you just have to extract the audio w/ another program (i.e. dvd2avi)...best bet that if you don't hear any audio or non-english audio when you played the vobs directly...the english audio is prolly not in track 1...

I would suggest using a program like DvdDecrypter
http://www.flexion.org/dvddecrypter/
just select - Mode: IFO Parsing
It give you lots of info about each sound track so you can (hopefully) find the right one. -
thanks that worked perfictly i just chose another track and it worked =) thanks for the help
