Ive been having a recuring problem with my DVD recordings and am wondering if anyone else has seen anything like this before.
I use a pioneer A04 recorder with nero (though I tried primo DVD and had the same thing happen). The problem happens about 1 out of 5 disks written. The disk will start playing fine but there will be one point in the movie where the disk will either freeze or start stuttering or just jump back to an earlier chapter. I've inspected the written side of the dvd's that have this problem, and in all of them theres an exact same tiny black dot with a small line (like a skid mark) coming of the dot. It appears like its a tiny burn mark. I use generic cheap media (about $1 a piece) so I don't know if its a media problem or maybe something with my dvd writers laser where it burns too strong in a certain spot. The strange thing is that there has never been an instance where there have been any more then one of these marks on a particular dvd. Does this make any sense to anyone? Any opinons?
