  1. I recently ripped a DVD to VCD (Mpeg-1) with DVD2SVCD using CCE 2.5SP, As far as I can remember I set the audio rate to 192kbit/sec instead of 224, Now the VCD plays in PowerDVD no problems, but when I put it in my Phillips standalone player, the video is fine but the audio stutters excessively !!

Could it be the audio rate that's caused this ? and can I re-encode the mpeg and change the rate, or will I have to start from scratch ?

It's the first time I've ever had a problem like this

    All say Grrrrrrrrrr......................

what you can do is demux, redo the audio(from source) at 224, and remux w/video

PowerDVD will play quite a number of 'non-standard' encodes. Just because a disk plays in powerDVD ( or any software player ) doesn't mean squat about a standalone player.

You definately want to 'test' in your stand alone player.
