I have version 2.58 and 2.59 on my computer and they wil not convert ac3 audio to mp2. An earlier setup I used would convert ac3 to mp2. I installed an older version of Tmpeg on my setup, version 2.52 and it wil convert ac3 to mp2 audio diectly. Anyone know why the current version won't but an older version will convert ac3 to mp2 on the same computer?

Although some people can do the conversion with TMPG, you may find you get a much better result by converting the AC3 with HeadAC3he or BeSweet, and then multiplexing. This way, if you get a 5.1 AC3 you can make the necessary volume adjustments for each track. If you don't, the surround effects can tend to drown out the dialogue. Also, TMPG is not the best prog to do the resampling.

Also, if you want a simple way of converting AC3 to MP2 and y ou are not bothered about adjusting the individual channels, then you can use dBpoweramp.
