  1. okay, my first post, so I hope I get some good answers. I have several AVI movie files that I have sucessfully converted to VCD via vcdhelp.com (with TMPGEnc and Nero). can the same movie files be converted to SVCD? I have yet to come across any AVI files that are MPEG2 (mostly dvd rips are what i have D/L). The latest AVI file I have says its 640x400,25 fps,48000Hz. Can this be converted to SVCD?. I am a little confused as to how to make SVCD sinec according to the vcdhelp page you use MPEG1 for VCD and MPEG2 for SVCD? the most confusing part is in TMPGEnc where it asks you to load a template. How do you know when to load an SVCD template as opposed to a VCD template?

  2. You can convert any video file to svcd. The compressed video is not in any mpg format and can be converted to either mpeg 1 or mpeg 2. Just select the super video cd template in tmpgenc and convert.
