hmm...somehow the guides on this site to put svcd's on dvdr didnt quite work for me, before i made some minor adjustments. so, if you try to follow the guide and your authoring prog crashed while importing the patched svcd file, try this:
-demux the svcd
-patch the mpv to 720x480 or 720x576
-upsample the audio to 48khz
-encode the audio to ac3 (u might go with the mpeg audio)
k, here's the only way it worked for me (any other authoring prog crashed on me when trying to import or work with the patched svcd mpgs, even after reinstaling winxp and trying different mpeg decs)
-use ifoedit to remux the patched mpg and the 48khz ac3 to a vob. do this with all your mpgs you wanna use for this dvdr.
-rename the vobs to XXX.mpg
-now use those in ulead dvd workshop as normal dvd compliant mpgs and author away
-when finishing and creating the disc (folder to hd in this case) make sure you tick the "do not convert compliant"
dvd workshop will now use the "fake" vobs and create the dvd structure and the new final vobs.
-repatch the vobs back to 480x480 or 480x576
-burn the dvdr
works all the time for me. all sync all playable on 4 dvd standalones tested by now.
