Anyone had this problem before? I have a Pioneer dv-c503. I went away for a couple weeks. When I came back, I turned the player on and saw an unlabeled disc in the player. I tried to watch it to see what it was but it wouldn't play. Tried the disc in other players, and it worked fine. Tried other discs in this player and nothing would work except dvds. Anybody know what would cause this? I'm hoping it's something simple like "It needs cleaning, you moron!"

PS All discs worked fine when I left...I had already watched the disc that was in the player.

My friend has this problem with his Sony standalone.
He used to borrow all my VCD's but now he cant as they wont play, very strange. -
So did your friend try cleaning it? Was it really cold (our heat was off for a few days, it was 40 degrees in here when I got back)? Anything?
