I've been trying iuVCR (actually trying them all, but I want to cap in AVI). I can't seem to set the capture rate above 25 fps? I'm using NTSC-M (United States). I can pick any resolution I want, but not anything pas 25 fps.

any suggestions? I'm running an AverMedia mono card, with tricked out WDM drivers. I've had no issues at any resolution, just FPS. PowerVCR caps and 29.97, as does the internal software.

  2. I never got this to work right either. Do a search for iuvcr in the forums, I know someone answered this issue a while back....

I found the Answer from October last year, Thanks to Shadow Runner!! There are to sets of color settings (Pal and NTSC) hence the 25 fps only. Unfortuantely having to YUV2's is confusing!

By default the program has four options when you choose the color format... it wants to use YUY2 color format, if you try to raise the framerate it doesn't work.

But if you change the color format to the other YUY2 THEN you can change the frame rate to 29.970 or higher.

See the four options are this....
    YUY2
    UYVY
    YUY2
    UYVY

Two of them let me change my fps to the correct NTSC 29.97fps while the other two use PAL 25fps.
So try them out and use the one's that work for you

Also if you ever go back in there it resets itself to the PAL 25fps.
But if you set to the one you want and dont go back in... it will use what you chose.

    Have fun and goodluck!

A guy over at the Rage3D forums helped me figure this out so I give him credit if he reads this

Finally Fixed!! The problem is the 'Tweaked Drivers' on the iuVCR site. Since it's a Euro Company, I can only assume there's a bug there for 25 FPS. I say this because even though I chose NTSC-M for my format, it did NOT properly choose the right country code (1 for USA) nor the right channel spacing (6 Mhz for USA). It defaulted to country code 61 and channel spacing of 1.

I replaced the drivers with the OEM drivers off the CD and I'm up and capping at 29.97 fps. I'm going to update the drivers off the Manufacturer site, but I don't foresee any problems.
