Hi all,
This sample is captured from a swedish tv-channel called tv4, it's a short
clip from darkangel.
The sample is captured with picvideo mjpeg and then frameserved from
virtualdub to tmpgenc using some filters.
To anyone interested in comparing the raw captured avifile with the
same avifile filtered and encoded to vcd (pal) can download
them here: Server is shutdown.
Please note that the avifile is 40mb in size, for ntsc users a have
encoded the mpeg samle to vcd (ntsc film).

i miss that show
what card did you use for that capture and what filters did you use? -
vhelp,
If the captured material is going to be encoded to vcd, it is always captured at 336x288.
The reason why it's 336x288 and not 352x288 is because the 16 pixel difference is to compensate for the overscan used by the tv.
Conquest10,
The tv-card used is a pixelwiew playtv pro using drivers from hauppauge. Pixelviews own drivers is suckware.
The filters used is tmpgenc's noisereduction (default settings),
edge sharpening (settings,depending on source),
gamma correction (settings, depending on source),
brightness (settings,depending on source).
hoola_loop,
For the res and filters used, read the answers above. The settings used in tmpgenc
is the default vcd template with only the gop structure set to i=1 p=4 b=2
and sequence header interval=1 and motionsearch to high quality (slow).
