  1. I need to know if there is a way that I can create an SVCD file with the VCD header using dvd2svcd without breaking up the process. I can obviously use the porgram as a whole, but I don't quite understand everything that I would be doing if i had to run some of these enocders on my own. I own a Sony DVP-S500D player and I know that it will play VCD's on CD-r, but it says that the only way to play SVCD is to fool the player with the header trick. I tried to extract the mpeg2 file from the .bin file, multiplex it with the mpeg 1 header using TMPG, and then copy it back into the .bin file, but that didn't work because the cd was read only and I couldn't copy anything to it.

    Thanks for any help.

  2. not 100% but I think the answer for you is to click on the CD Image tab in DVD2SVCD and down in the bottom left corner click Dont Make Images, doing this will remove the step of producing a Bin file, and just give you the movie by itself.

Then de-multiplex it and re-multiplex it as you already have. then you have a few options, if you are using a Bin/Cue burner like CDRWIN or FireBurner then download VCDEasy and use it to produce a bin file and then burn as you normaly do, Or if you are using Nero to burn then just load the file into nero and burn it as a svcd, it will give a message about the video being inccorect and ask if you want it to re-encode for you, but click the option to turn of complaince and burn anyway.

    hope i helped

  3. Thanks for the help. I figured there was a way to get the mpeg file out of there without having the .bin files. New at this and kind of feeling my way around. Hopefully this will do the trick.

  4. Maybe you don't have to demultiplex and multiplex again, if you select the advanced-mode in the Misc-Tab. Then, in the bbmpeg you can chose the settings and select vcd instead of svcd.
