Is it possible to convert animated gifs into mpeg files?

Hey I was just wondering, would I be able to convert an animated gif file into a mpeg file? Is there a magical program that can do such a thing? ^_^ Thx.

Convert Animated GIF to AVI first using an image converter such as:
http://www.ggcomputer.com/product.htm
(there are plenty more - search google)

You can then convert from AVI to MPEG (refer Convert menu to the left if unsure on this part).
