I'm posting this because it's something on which I've seen conflicting info online, & I'm trying to get to the root of it...
Thinking of buying a DVD writer to double as a video-disc-burner and data storage for my Mac. Can anyone tell me whether both DVD-RW and DVD+RW will support multi-session writing? I gather that the +RWs can, but opinion on the -RWs seems to be divided...

I don't see why it couldn't.
I think that DVD+RW just mentions that to push it's product
