Hi - I'm trying to convert a DIVX movie to SVCD and have been having trouble resizing it to a good resolution for my TV and standalone DVD player. I'm using Nandub to resize and frameserve into CCE 2.5 to encode, and then I'm using pulldown on it and finally multiplexing into BBMPEG (this is the guide I'm using: http://vcdhelp.com/avitovcdfoolproofusingcce/). The source DIVX movie is 640x272, and I've tried resizing in Nandub to 480x204 with 480x480 borders, as well as 480x240 with borders as well (as well as just about every resolution I can think of), and the height of the film always comes off slightly off on my non-widescreen NTSC TV. In CCE, I assume I should set the source aspect ratio to DAR 4:3? I'd like the end result to be similar to what you get with the NTSC SVCD template in TMPGEnc (does TMPGEnc crop the movie horizontally at all?). Any suggestions?
BTW, I think the guide needs to be amended, frameserving out of Nandub/Virtualdub with the AVI with no sound always seems to crash CCE, you need to do it with the original avi (but make sure to uncheck the Audio output in CCE)! Also it should be noted that, for people using XP, in BBMPEG you need to first select Load file and then Cancel on the main screen/upper left hand corner before getting into the settings menu and selecting the input and output files, or else BBMPEG will crash. I found out about both of these issues here on the forums, but it seems that they still haven't made it into the guide yet...
