  1. Can someone PLEASE help me.
Dual layer disc but "movie only" will fit on one disc. Here is what I am doing.

    1) Ripped the "movie only" in file mode using DVDdecrypter.
    2) Trying to make image with imgtools. Every time I get the message Can't locate Video_tc folder or ifo. I am putting all the files in the Video_tc folder in the ROOT directory of C: I heard that the folder must be in capital letters. Every time I try that, they automatically go to lower case.

Am I supposed to be doing something with IFOEDIT before I do this. I didn't think I did since the movie is less than 4gigs.

Any help would be appreciated before I pick up my computer and throw it across the room. I have spent many many hours of useless time.

(I am using Windows 98 second edition)

  2. Smartripper is the ideal program for ripping a movie only which is 4gb or less get Smartripper it works great and is a simple process for this.

Use Smartpipper in movie mode or DVD Decrypter in ifo mode, either one works well. Use stream rip and select only the video and one audio stream.
If it's under 4.37GB's use Ifoedit to create the ifo files, this is necessary since the rippers do not create burnable ifo's. Put everything in a VIDEO_TS folder and use any program to burn,I prefer Nero.

  6. Try this,

    1) Create a new directory on hard disk (eg "Blade") containing AUDIO_TS & VIDEO_TS dirs. Put all .VOB files in VIDEO_TS, leave AUDIO_TS empty.

    2) In IFOedit open VIDEO_TS dir & run "get VTS sectors", this should correct any errors.

    3) Open IMGtool & select dir (eg "Blade") select virtual drive S & make drive. This will make a temp drive called "S" on your hard disk. Select drive S in DVD Drive & name & directory for image file (eg "Blade") then create disc image. This will write disc image to the hard disc.

    4) Open DVD Decryptor & change to write mode. Then select .img file in source. Make sure write mode is DVD, then create DVD..

Took me a few weeks before I sorted the process out too

Not saying that smart ripper (or others) don't work. However, there is nothing smart ripper does that DVD decrypter doesn't. DVD Decrypter has more features, is updated often, and tends to read discs better...

  8. Pumpkin King I have tried what you have told me to do and I keep getting the same error CAN'T LOCATE VIDEO_TS FOLDER OR VIDEO_TS.IFO FILE from imgtool. I have followed your directions EXACTLY. I would truly appreciate any more ideas you might have. Thanks

  9. OK, I finally got imgtools to create an image. Imgtools did not like my folder name, it had a comma in it and would not recognize it. NEXT PROBLEM, The image is created in about one second and is about 800K in size. What am I doing wrong now?!?!?!

IMG Tools was available from Doom9.net but I can't see it there anymore. If you still need it let me know & I'll E-mail it to ya (it's just over 1 Meg in size).

I'm not sure why the image isn't burning correctly. Go to www.Doom9.org and click on guides, then select DVD & DVD Mini Guides.. scroll down till you get to IFOEdit guides & click on Basic Guide. This will take you through from start to finish, and the instructions for IMGTools are on the 2nd page...
