  1. Is there such a thing as user a user friendly video program that allows one to capture, edit and burn a video on either a DVD or CD.

Most seem to have a reasonably steep learning curve.

I have tried DVD-it, Video Magic, MuVee (Actually fairly easy, but limited).

As for Windows software you will probably find that they either fall into the too wimpy or learning curve variety. You might do yourself a favor and learn by trial and error, that how most of the rest of us did.

  3. Ulead DVD workshop, allows you to capture, edit, convert, author and burn.

However it is very rare that an all in one solution is the best solution. For example.

    I use.

    Capture
Virtualdub for analogue, Ulead video studio or workshop for DV transfer

    Edit
Virtualdub for analogue, Ulead video studio for DV

    Convert
    TMPGEnc

    Author
    Ulead DVD workshop

    Burn
    Nero

These options give me the greatest flexibility and results.

  4. Pinnacle Studio 8

This option affords the greatest ease of use and has, in fact, a lot of "extras" for the price.

It does not, of course, rip DVD's.
