like sony vegas pro or windows movie maker.
the video is an .avi
on gspot:
Codec:WMV3
Name:WMP v9 (VC-1 Simple/Main)
Status:Codec(s) are Installed
in vegas it has the "stream attributes cannot be determined". i tried to open it in virtualdub and virtualdubmod but neither of those could read it either. it plays fine on media player though.

Try virtualdubmpeg2 or the wmv plugin for standard virtualdub from http://home.comcast.net/~fcchandler/index.html .

It's unusual to find WMV3 in an AVI file. Try installing this:
https://www.videohelp.com/tools/WMV9_VCM
Note that WMV3 is the fourcc for the codec used in Windows Media version 9. Did GSpot show the container as AVI? It's possible it's a .WMV file that was renamed with an AVI extension. -
