i just got a cyberhome CH-DVD 500 DVD Player, and on nerd-out forums they are saying it'll play mini-dvd's burn in this manner:

"I think I might have a solution for the mini-DVDs.

Apparently, my newer miniDVD discs were written in mode 2. This machine may only be able to support miniDVDs in mode 1.

I was able to create working miniDVDs through Nero with the following procedures:

    1. From New Compilation, choose CD-ROM (UDF)
    2. Under UDF tab, specify UDF Partition Type to "Physical Partition" and Filesystem Version "UDF 1.02"
    3. During burning, finalize CD.

I was able to just copy the directories from the miniDVDs that did not work on this machine to a new disc with the above parameters. The player was able to recognize this disc as a DVD disc. "

is it possible to do the above on a mac and if so how? with toast?

i know how to make the dvd content, just not how to burn in the above manner.

    thanks

    Hi,

    I don't know anything about mode 1 or 2..
But I have succesfully created minidvd's on my mac.
If you have correctly created video_ts and audio_ts folders, drop them in Toast 5 using burning option "DVD".
Toast doesn't check if it's really a dvd-r you're are burning on and (if the minidvd isn't larger than the cd-r) burns it on a cd-r as it was a dvd!
    Hope I could help,

    Mark
