  1. Hi there....i have been reading posts and articles till my head is sore from all the technical jargon lol. My problem is i used Nero to burn my .avi to vcd...the video is perfect its the audio that i can't get. For some reason all i'm getting is a really iratating gritty high pitch noise all the way through. Any advise on how to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated. This is the first time i've tried it.

Read the Avi to VCD guides.
Your avi is probably divx or similar.
U need to strip the audio and convert it to wav.
Then reencode to VCD using the video file and the new audio file.

    Hi
Which version of TMPGenc did you use???
I know some have problems with mutilplexing etc.

Alternatively I used Ulead Video Studio once.
I just loaded the divx in and it converted the audio and the video with no need for prior conversion.
No promises that works on all divx's tho.

the audio noise could well be down to nero down sampleing the audio that being said nero is a poor encoder anway avoid it, follow the guides on this site and u wont go far wrong

  8. the problem may be because you have a taped screen file only 12,000 frames per second that is low.

    Just my two cents

  9. Hi there me again....just thought i would let you know that i have sorted the problem. With looking at different tutorials from this site and others i was getting things mixed up. I followed the 'how to's' in this site to the letter and i finally have a working vcd. My problem with the audio was to do with bad frames so i just cut my .avi and joined it again minus the bad part...i felt quite impressed with myself I would like to know if there is any program that can find bad frames. I did use one but it never showed any....Thank you all once again for your help.

yu, use virtual dub to scan for bad frames

  11. It was virtualdub that I used to scan the file...it showed no errors at all. It was'nt until it came to me converting to mpeg that tempengc froze during convert. I don't know why it was showing that there was no errors cause when I watched the .avi file all through I could see myself that it was not right. Note to myself - view files before attempting conversion lol.
