i just got a cd from a friend that contains a movie in divx format (.avi) that is......
now, i tried to copy the whole cd to my HD but it didnt work, tried copying only the ".avi" that also didnt work, got a msg saying "You can not copy blablabla.avi, you cant read from the unit" second thing i tried was making an image from the cd using clonecd, making the image worked well, then i used daemon-tools to make a virtual unit.. after making that unit and trying to copy the .avi file i got the same msg as when i was trying to copy the whole cd, is there any prog or whatever that could help me to copy that damn .avi to my HD?
any answers are appreciated
TIA

hi frozenQ,
that is a wierd problem!!
I presume that the .avi plays from the CD in the first place?
One of the only other things I can think of is to try and use the 'Direct Stream Copy' mode in VirtualDub: open the .avi in vDub, then under both audio & video choose 'Direct Stream Copy', then try 'Save avi'.
See if that works... let us know.
cheers,

yes, the movie can be played from the cd without conflicts, just tried what you said by saving the .avi in vdub, with direct stream both in "video" and "audio" and didnt help, got this error msg
"Video frame 1352 could not be read from the source. The file may be corrupt" but still, the funny thing is that i can play the movie from the cd, im clueless, dont know what the problem can be...
