  1. I made a SVCD using DVD2SVCD (+TMPGEnc) and burned it with Nero as image (cue file). It plays well on my PC with PowerDVD but stutters alot on my DVD standalone (Panasonic SC-HT95). The video plays smooth initially (no audio for 1 or 2 seconds) on the standalone, but when the audio starts playing with the video it starts to stutter. Sometimes the stuttering stops, then starts again. What is the deal here? Is it some conversion settings or is it my standalone DVD player (it says it can play VCDs). This happens both for VCDs and SVCDs.

  2. Sounds like its something in your encoding I have made decent SVCD's by:
    Rip with smartripper
    Framserve with DVD2AVI
Use TMPGenc with a standard SVCD template (With the wizard)
    Burn with Nero

If you try to encode with VBR or non standard CBR rates (XVCD) etc, some DVD players do not like it, so if you haven't been try to encode standard SVCD or VCD and see how you go.
