I'm new to dvd burning, and am a bit confused about autoplay on a standalone dvd player. I've read the forums and it appears that it is hardware dependent, BUT.....
why do some of my dvdrs autoplay and not others? I use the same method each time, I use DVD Maestro to author and tried both Nero and GearPro to burn and get mixed results with both, so I'm really not sure where I'm going wrong. They load fine (although they can take up to about 30 secs) and then I have to press play again. Not that's a big hassle to press 1 button, but I was wondering why???

do you mean that the dvd should auto play the video? or just go to the menu first?

Either would be nice, it just spins up in the player then you have to press play to start either, some do have menus, some don't.

Are you connecting the DVD correctly? I use Maestro as well you have to assign a "first play" connection.
