  1. I just made my first VCD and the audio is very distorted. WHY? What settings di I need to change to clear it up. I am using the setup guide as described for the ATI All in Wonder card for video capture and the Nero guide to make the VCD. Audio soundsli8ke it is being played through a sub woofer but I don't have one. Any ideas? And yes, this is my very first rip and burn for video.

    Thanks,

  3. Hello there,

I just like to ask where did you play back your VCD? Standalone player or PC? I had an experience like that way back my VCD days.. I tried to boost my Capture bitrate from the normal 1.something MB/s to 2mb/s using registry editing for my AIW Radeon Capture Card settings. When I played it on a standalone VCD player I got distorted audio.... and also video skipping. Hope this helps.

  4. The distorted playback happens when playing on stand alone DVD player, JVC.

Sarcasm is not likely to enduce people to help you.

How did you create your mpeg file, did you capture to mpeg direct, or did you capture to avi then convert, if the later what did you convert with. Does the mpeg file play ok on your PC. Does the VCD play ok on your PC.

  6. I captured directrly to mpeg and the mpeg file does play on my pc fine with no noticable audio problems. The vcd seems to play fine on my PC but I have not played it extensivly on my PC. For now it only has audio problems in my dvd player.

My DVD player is a JVC XV-S500BK. I have a MSI K7T Turbo system board and I am using the on board AC 97 audio. The audio from my ATI capture card feeds to the aux input on the sys board. I have yet to make another another capture and vcd burn with different (lower) volume settings on the aux in tool bar.

Does that sound like a possible issue/resolution?
