  1. Hi all... I am having major difficulties capturing with XP. I use the microsoft WDM driver. I have tried alot of wdm drivers like Nvidia and Asus beta for winxp... but none gives me anything near a good capture...

    I run a
    AMDXP 1700+
    Gf2 Asusv7700 deluxe
    1024 MB sdram
    HD on ultra dma

CAN anyone explain to me why i am still getting major framedrops and a averagerate of 12-15 fps when capturing....

I have tried asus dvcr, freevcr and virtualdub... And no settings seem to have any change on the capture situation.. For example changing from 640*480 to 160*120 has no effect whatever on framedrop.

    (( please anyone..
    Thx for any ideas..

I have a similar system, Same CPU and Videocard.

I use ASUS Digital VCR (v2.0b1) all the time. Settings are 740x480@30fps, encoding with HuffyUV. So far worst has been 65 frames dropped in 90 minutes.

I tried the newer Dvcr but had troubles as you describe so I went back.
