  2. the mintek 1600 works great with these. all you have to do is burn your pics onto a cd and load them up on the mintek. the player will read them perfectly!

A Magnavox MDV450 (primarily available online at Walmart and Blockbuster) or a Philips DVD-724 both do JPEGs fine. They also play VCD, XVCD (all of Kwag's themplates, although K3 you need to change the resolution to 544 x 480), CVD, SVCD, XSVCD, etc.

  4. I've also seen a few Apex models, an RCA and a GE at Walmart, and a few others. It seems to be a more common feature on newer models. The box will usually say either "PictureCD", "Photoview" or "JPEG" if it is supported.

  5. I have an APEX 1100 from Walmart (about $70) that will read JPGs and do a slide show.

  6. Thanks for the reply but my problem is I am having a hard time finding Mintek, magnavox and Philips in Canada. I did find a RCA that does JPEG. Model is DRC220N, but I have not read a single review that has anythhing good to say about that model, everyone says stay away. Anyone know of a Toshiba, Sony, Panasonic etc. that does JPEG. Sales people are no help.

  7. Use this procedure to burn CD that play on your existing DVD players, and most likely your friends/family members too. See :
