when i convert a dvdrip-divx to vcd the picture juddereds ever so slighty (but noticably) throughout the whole film. Apart from the slight judder, it's perfect. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there another setting that i need to use?
Thanks people.
P.s. It only seems to do it with dvdrip-divx files (.avi). If i convert and .mpg and put it on vcd then there is no juddering.
I'm using TMPGEnc Plus to encode.
Thanks again.

Are you using a AVI file or are you making an AVI file from a DVD and then encoding it to VCD?
If the latter your better off just encoding straight to VCD. if your using just an AVI you should probably post this in the Newbie Conversion Forum.
Could you describe the slight judder a little more please? Always try to provide as much info as you can (We arnt mind readers ^_^ )
Is it an animated movie?

This juddered.... the picture is not running smoothly, judder is the best way i can describe it.... the frames aren't running smoothly, but it's just slightly. I hope all you who aren't mind readers can understand what judder means now.
This is only happening when i'm encoding an dvdrip-divx as i've already said. These are files that have been created from a dvd and converted into an .avi file. I hope all you who aren't mind readers can understand what dvdrip-divx means now.
This problem occurs whether it is a real film, a cartoon, animated... whatever.
This doesn't happen when i rip directly from a dvd to vcd. Hence to subject title 'DIVX 2 VCD'. I hope all you who aren't mind readers can understand the difference between 'divx 2 vcd' and 'dvd 2 vcd'. -

well im really sorry if i've wasted your time, you are obviously a real busy person if you've got time to right stupid comments in a forum, when i would really rather have a reply from someone who knows what they are talking about.
I may not know a lot about digital video conversion, but if someone is asking a question i would rather answer them, than poke fun.
If there is anyone else who would care to help, i'd be more than grateful. -

i've got a 16x yamaha writer. when i was first doing my vcds i was burning at 16x, but the picture was totally breaking up. This seems to be something to do with my writer. I can get a way with writing at 8x and they play great apart from the slight juddering.
My friend copied me some vcds on his 24x writer and they play fine, so i think it can be something to do with different writers.
