I'm referring to the article on the main SVCD page, where you fool the player into thinking its playing a VCD, when its really an SVCD. I have a few questions:

    1) Does this work for all players? I just got an Akai ADV 2280 player, which supports VCD but not SVCD. Didn't realise until it was too late... Will the trick work for this player?

    2) Does it work with CVD as well?

    3) If using this method, can you still use all the things SVCD can support that VCD can not?

    1) No, unless it is mentioned in the DVD players report on this site you won't know if it will work unless you try it.

    2) Don't know, again try it. Would be interested to hear your findings.

    3) I wouldn't expect so if SVCD is not supported the SVCD only features will not be supported.
