    I take it you want to convert the AUDIO on a VCD to an MP3?

    You can try the following:
    Load the "DAT" file on the VCD with VirtualDub.

    Audio --> Full Processing Mode

    File --> Save audio

    This will save to audio to a WAV file and then you can convert it to MP3 with your favourite encoder.

    You can actually directly convert the audio to MP3 if you have a Windows MP3 encoder codec installed on your PC (Audio --> Compression before the Save audio step). However, LAME as an MP3 encoder is recommended.

    Alternatively, the audio on a VCD is already in MPEG-1 Layer 2 audio form and you may not want to re-encode it to MP3. You can then just use TMPGEnc to demultiplex the audio from the DAT file.

    File --> MPEG Tools --> Demultiplex

    Regards.
