i've got a digital 8 camcorder, and am just wondering what everyone's opinion is about VCD vs. SVCD. For home movies that are recorded in digital format, should i burn the movies in VCD or SVCD format? thanks for your time and any help, peace

SVCD for home movies - but it takes patience to getting the right ettings for your standalone. At least it did for me.
Now I am highly impressed with the quality playing back from my Philips 711DVD.

Now I have cracked it (bad choice of words there) my home movies taken from Digital8 (Sony) will all be converted to SVCD.
