    i used every how to guide form this site and divx digest, with every program that converts avi to vcd but all i get is the sound but no picture, just a black screen. i even redownloaded the programs but they still dont work. could someone hel pme righht quick?

    reinstall all ur divx codecs... and make sure u can view the SVI file b4 encoding begins.
    Any help is FAAAANTASTIC.. :D

    i can see the avi fine. its just when i covert it all i get is sound with a black screen. i think i saw somewhere i need the divx 3.11 codec. but how do i install that. i got the file but i dont know how to install it.

    the divx codecs should be an *.exe file that you just click and run- it self installs the codecs for you. thats all there is to installing a codec

    There should be an INI file which you can rightclick on & do INSTALL

    I had that problem with the first DIVX conversions I did... you have to rip the sound from the avi and then make it into an mpg with something like TMPEG. is this how you did it?

    when I tried letting Nero convert the avi for me, it ended up liked yours
