Hi,
I have a music vcd ... on two of the chapters it skips a bit, and beeps although for the majority of them it is fine (tried in Windvd and Win Media Player).......
I wanted to rip the chapters and re-encode them, synching with the audio track from the cd (yes, they are the same versions) but it wont rip. VCDgear just stops midway through...
TMPGEnc imports and encodes the whole file, but it messes up after a few seconds and remains on that frame for the whole mpg (freezes both on the encoding view screen, and when played back).
Virtualdub won't import at all, claiming there is a packet error.
Any ideas?! Is there any program that will record mpg whilst streaming it?
Regards,
robin

Try extracting the CD as a CUE/BIN image with CDRWin (and set it to ignore errors -- your disc probably has some unrecoverable errors).
Then use VCDGear to try to extract the mpeg.

thanx. that worked a treat
(i made the bin, then extracted the mpg from that using isobuster - then tmpgenc would re-encode with a wave input for audio)
