    I want to cap at high quality MJPEG or Huffy eg 720x480 and convert to DVD or SVCD. I will be capturing from a Coax Digital Cable line.

    might want more RAM and files captured with Huffy can be pretty big so a bigger hard drive could be in order.

    Very true, I have a 40GB drive dedicated to video capture. A 2 hour capture is about 24GB.

    I capture 640x480@30fps and use the HuffyUV lossless codec.
