I've been trying to convert some AVIs to CVD/SVCD and VCD, but since the audio in the AVIs are VBR-MP3 the resulting CVD/SVCD or VCD has its audio out of sync.
I tried to extract the audio with VirtualDub, Avi2Wav and NanDub. The extracted MP3 file from the first two programs, behaves stranges I tried to play the file in WinAmp and timer couldn't deside how much time where was left. The one from NanDub didn't do this. But the end result was the same in all cases.
Who should I do this? It has be buging me for a while now.

Try extracting the audio with goldwave and save as uncompressed PCM. Use this wav file when as the audio source you encode to mpeg.
