-anybody know any apps that can rip VBR mp3 properly?
-anybody know what might cause VBR to go out of sync? are there certain options i should avoid, like MPEG instead of H263, etc.

i only like to use 128 mp3, to me, AC3/DTS belongs on DVD or BD...tried a couple apps, can't remember the names, one was xvid4psp, but none of them worked with VBR...i can't have CBR...its easier for syncing, but on my bro's player it has clicking noises...VBR would be fine, but i duno any apps that can sync it properly...does anybody have any suggestions?

EDIT: nvm, problem solved...using GK now...

  2. Sadly, all my experience shows me that x/h264 causes sync problems. Still waiting for answers.

The type of video the original might be shouldn't matter at all if the video and audio are converted correctly. I've converted countless x264 encoded MKVs and MP4s to AVI, often with either VBR or CBR audio, and not had any sync problems (well there's been the occasional exception but there's generally a reason for it).

Maybe if you explain the process/program you're using for conversion?

Seriously I think Randm may have solved the problem by now ... the post is 4 years old.

    I'm sorry. Sometimes I don't think.

Yeah, I don't think any program has problems with vbr mp3 anymore. Avery fixed the problem in Virtualdub years ago.
