  1. hey. ive been having this problem and am not sure how to correct it.

i capture in uncompressed avi (for best quality picture) and then i use virtual dub to edit it b4 putting it into divx. after my capture is complete, the audio is usually out of sync. ive been able to correct this in virtual dub by playing w/ the frame rate and also "audio interleaving" in the past. but for some reason (after some time passing, loading a new system and what have you)... everything goes the same until i get to vdub... i resync the audio so it matches up w/ the video and everything IN vdub.. but after its converted and i watch it... its still way out of sync (if not worse then the original).

Why is this and what can i do to correct this? i never had this problem in the past? Does anyone know of some settings in vdub that i could try that may correct this problem?

    Id greatly appreciate any help
    thanks so much

  2. ive played w/ it some more. the uncompressed avi isnt that out of sync but enough that one would want to change it. when i open it in vdub it shows it as even more out of sync and when i fix it in vdub it leaves it out of sync when i convert it out of vdub... why is virtual dub doing this? anyone know how to fix it?
    thanks so much

  3. One solution may be to fix your capture problem. Audio should NOT be out of sync while capturing. Although you have often succeeded in working around this problem using VDub, it may not work always.
Do you get frame drops?? Try reducing the capture audio sampling rate / capture as mono instead of stereo.
If you insist on full audio quality and if you can replay your source, try capture the video only first, and then capture the audio (w/o video). Multiplex this in VDub and adjust only audio offset.
